Request for Proposals - Spring Granting Cycle 2009

Dear Colleague,
I am very pleased to send you a Request for Proposals for the Agape Foundation – Fund for Nonviolent Social Change’s Board of Trustees Spring 2009 grant cycle. We welcome proposals from small, California–based, grassroots organizations working for nonviolent social change.

Agape funds organizations that are addressing the following issues: Peace, Human Rights, Environmental Protection, Economic Justice, Progressive Arts & Media, and Grassroots Organizing Support. Organizations must be five years old or younger, with annual budgets under $100,000. The Foundation also funds the distribution of nonfiction social issue media, including films, videos, radio programs, compact discs, vinyl records and books.

We request that organizations seeking grants first complete a Letter of Intent form. These forms may be submitted until 5 pm, Monday, February 2nd, 2009. Staff will review and inform applicants of request for full proposal or rejection within 72 hours. (Applicants must use Agape’s LOI form.) If requested, deadline for receipt of full proposals will be 5 p.m. on Monday, March 2nd, 2009.

I ask that you please take a moment to think about whom among your networks of friends and colleagues might be interested in an RFP. Copies may be obtained by visiting our website, www.agapefdn.org, clicking on Grants & Loans, then on Board of Trustees Grants, Guidelines, or by calling 415/701-8707. If you have any questions about our funding priorities or application process, please feel free to call us at 415/701-8707.
