01. Are you connected with a religious organization? No, we are not. Agape is a Greek word meaning unselfish love. There are many other organizations with our name. If you are looking for one of them, click here. Top

02. What kinds of groups do you fund? We fund grassroots organizations, working on peace and justice issues, that are under five years old with budgets under $100,000. They must be located in California. We fund groups working on anti-military, anti-nuclear, human rights, environmental protection and defense, economic and environmental justice issues. Top

03. How often do you make grants? Our competitive grant cycle has two deadlines for LOIs, February 01 and August 01. We then grant in April and October, respectively. Top

04. How much are your grants? Grants are available up to $5,000. Top

08. Do you have an emergency fund? Yes, but only for governmental, environmental and military emergencies. The maximum amount is $500. You can apply at any time. Please click here for information about the Alice Hamburg Emergency Fund guidelines. Top

09. Do you have a loan fund? Yes, you can borrow $3,000 for 3 months; at 2% interest. Therefore, if you borrow $3,000, the interest will be $60. Please click here for information about loans from the David R. Stern Memorial Fund. Top

10. What is the deadline for applying for a loan? The deadline is the last business day of every month for review by the Board at the next month’s Board meeting. Top
